Whispers in the Dark – A New Feature I’m in that will be shot in 24 Hours!

This weekend, I’m going to be playing Maria Ortiz in a feature film called “Whispers in the Dark”. It’s gonna be a 24-hour experience, and the main character of the movie is a person that was selected for the role, but who is not an actor, and has no idea about the story or even who her character is! She’ll be introduced to some info at the beginning of the film, but the rest of the cast –actors– will

be in charge of moving the story forward. I’ve been rehearsing for this, and I have to say, It’s been a great exercise and a greater reminder of how important it is to listen to your scene partner.  The actors on this film have to move the story forward because we know where the story has to go, but we cannot ignore or deny the ideas that the man character is going to bring to the action. So we have to be very attentive and really incorporate all the elements, those that were given, but also those that this person is going to bring.

The project will be screened this same weekend at the New York Film Festival. I know that it’s going to be a reduced version, but I think it will be very interesting to see the result. And even the progress from beginning to end, specially for the main character (the non-actor).

So, if you are curious and feel like checking it out, you can get your tickets here: http://www.filmlinc.com/nyff2012/films/whispers-in-the-dark

There is gonna be a Q&A, so you can also find out more about the process of making such a movie.
